Travel Medication

A minimum of 14 working days notice must be given for all Travel Medication requests.

Travel Medication Request Policy

After a discussion with GP’s, it has been agreed that when patients are going on holiday or travelling abroad that we will issue you with a maximum of 2 months of medication. This decision has not been made lightly as we have consulted the local ICB regarding this. Patient safety is paramount.

It is the responsibility of the patient to register with a local GP where they are staying abroad to obtain more medication. We can supply you with a list of your medication to take with you while travelling.

The patient must check with the country of travel if the medication is a legal drug and is able to be brought into the country.

We always recommend travel insurance for all patients. Medication abroad if needed in an emergency can be costly.
